Malesov

Malesov is a little town  located 70 km east of Prague ( Czech Republic). It lies  in the Vrchlice streem  valley 334 m above the see level 7 km south-west of the town Kutna Hora  (1*). Town is located on the local railroad from Kutna Hora to Zruc nad Sazavou..

In Malesov live approx. 700 inhabitants. There are several villages which belongs to the Malesov : Albrechtice, Maxovna, Polanka, Tyniste  (Totally with Malesov 905 inhabitants ).

In Brief from the History:

First written note about Malesov is from 1303. 

Since  1340 Malesov is called little town and King Charles IV approved to held the 7 days markets here. 

1421, November 11 - the town was captured by the army of Jan Ziska from Trocnov.

1424 the battle  between Jan Ziska and Prague league  probably occurred near the pond Prosik . The Prague league was beaten.

In 1472 the Malesov was captured by the army of Vladislav Jagellon.

Ruin of the Sion Castle -captured and burned 1437,direction to the village Clistovice (3km).

Hiking pathes ( mainly through forests) : Zruc nad Sazavou (or Kacov)-  Zbraslavice -Malesov -Sion- (a Roztez)- Kutna Hora

Dam "Velký rybnik"-bathing ,campsite with cottages - (2km)

(1*) Note:  There is a second village with the same name (Malesov) in the Czech Rep. It is near Litomerice in north Bohenia
